AI Takes a Stab at Cyber Attacks – What’s Next?

Can you believe it? AI is now helping cybercriminals do their dirty work. Just last week, a fancy AI agent called Hermes was used to automate an attack on the Thai Ministry of Finance. Talk about next-level scary!

So, what exactly happened? This Hermes AI agent was deployed to exploit vulnerabilities in the ministry’s systems. Basically, it took over the roles that humans would do in a cyber attack. Imagine having a super-smart assistant who doesn’t need coffee breaks and can work 24/7. Not the kind of assistant you want, right?

Now, why should you care? Well, it’s not just a one-off incident. AI is becoming a tool for hackers, meaning everyday folks like you and me could be in hot water. With more sophisticated attacks, the stakes are higher than ever for cybersecurity. If a government agency can get hit, what’s stopping the bad guys from targeting businesses or even our personal data?
